Testing The Mettle
Art: The Right Key To Freedom by Giuseppe Maiorana
Curious indeed the cages we pop ourselves in, the limits we place on our dreams and ambitions, the cultivation of hopelessness we can indulge from within. Even on the best days trapping ourselves in prisons of our own making, then gilding the bars with misplaced matyrdom, easy bypass or excuses.
Eclipse season arrives twice a year to rattle those bars and our lives in the process. It does not care for faux hesitation nor courage that only cowers inside your heart's cage. An unforgiving mistress of beginnings and endings, Lady Eclipsia is a chaotic go getter with glittering eyes peeled. In cahoots with your soul self, she has read its scrolls and knows when you spook on the path or take off for slimmer pickings or safe harbours.
The rattling has already begun. As far back as that last Pisces new moon when the floodgates opened before you were ready. Last week when the equinox tipping point initiated the process at play. Conjured turbulence to unseat you from playing pretend to placate, and salted those old wounds to be sure.
Today as the moon ratchets to tomorrow's peak we sit in wait for the first eclipse, courting the Libran moon's rueful imbalance. The winds of change are already rattling, messing up our hair and best played plans. Crisis and opportunity flickering in the half light, playing loose and fast with avowed resistance or borrowed glory.
Soon the towers may crash. The world will tip wildly. The hinge will roar change. Fortuna spins the wheel again. Tucked into this day are clues. Keys to the locks that bind you, tantalising from beyond the bars. Golden tickets flapping that demand you leave your old world ways. Shards of lightning you could catch if you have a bottle ready and the will coursing through you like fire.
Lady Eclipsia is testing your mettle. Rise to meet her or surrender again, your future sighing at the gate.
