Herbal Remedies for Healing and Magic
Though her first love was words, Kerrie’s second was nature.
Flowers and herbs more specifically, enchanted from her teens by the simplicity and potency of plant remedies. Kerrie studied Western Botanical medicine in the early 1990s, embarking on a lifelong devotion to the plant worlds, its medicine and magic. Over the years adding studies in flower essences, plant oils, crystal and shell essences, tree lore and druidry, witchcraft and potions. Studying over many years under the experienced tutelage of Pat Hall and Jacqui Bushell, Stacey Demarco and Lucy Cavendish, Kami McBride and Rob Santich.
A passionate gardener and wildcrafter, Kerrie produces small batch potions and balms and has crafted a range of flower essences for human and furkin.
In 2024, Kerrie began a gardening business on Sydney’s northern beaches catering to the elderly and those with small balcony and potted plants keen to establish herb, fruit and flower gardens.

Knitbone Comfrey Balm
Comfrey is well regarded for its ability to knit bone back together, making it an ideal herb to use topically for the repair of structural aches, breaks and pain. Wonderful for rheumatism and bruising too, though it cannot be used on open skin

Plantain Salve
Plantain is a prolific plant that is wonderful for just about every skin complaint you can think of, as well as the big ones like cuts and burns and eczema. I’ve used mine for ticks, stings and bites too. It literally repairs skin and weaves layers back together. Excellent for when the skin has been taken off - bikes, skateboards et al - and is weeping, it seals the deal. Just one of those brilliant heal-alls to have in easy reach in the fridge when you need it.
In terms of magical use, plantain is the remedy for when you have been stabbed in the back or unceremoniously cut down. Brilliant for sealing up any energetic tears and suturing scar tissue, leaving you stronger than you were previously. A wonderful green ally in times of betrayal and the healing that follows.
