Merc’s Very Aquarian Retrograde

Photography by Erika Morris and Carl Bindman

Retrograde motion is a function of perspective and designed to shift it. Changes in apparent direction and appearance spin our heads. Wires cross and language slips secrets under the door. Expectations upend and the noise calls them out.

The past rolls in uninvited bearing lost things to be found. The trickster wielding gifts and an infuriating grin. The psychopomp nodding at the bridge. We rarely end up where we started and find our perspective changed upon landing.

Mercury has today shifted gears and flipped the switch on our retrograde adventure in consciousness through Aquaria. Our vision tilted, awareness shifted to haul us into the future and our preordained entelechy. Synapses crackling with fresh technologies as nerves thrum ancient codex. New keys jingling steel in your hands.

Since the crack of February, Merc has been transporting us between worlds real and imagined, poking holes in the fabric of our regular reality to see if we will peer into them. Suspending disbelief and cultivating tangents. Revising ideas to settle debts to the past as safe investment in the future. Teasing the imaginal into form.

And so it is.

Merc rests at his stationing point all this week, between Saturn and Jupiter and nonchalantly squaring Mars. All planets in direct motion as lights everywhere turn green. Resist the slingshot and any leaping impatience. Life is not a race to the future.

Let Merc's marination in his shadow well into March give you time to integrate this brainchanging excursion. Soften any stubborn resistance to what you know now. Unfurl into something else entirely.

All reality is virtual. Your perspective is a choice as is your inhabitation. As Pisces tickles our mythic imagination, dream up your brave new world. Take firm hold of the controls. Begin to explore its dazzling reaches.

Why shouldn't people be able to teleport wherever they want?
