Lockdown Poetry

I rise in the dark
dress quickly and fly
before dawn gives the game
away

Paper barking morn
birds twitter the real news
lady of the lake
lapping me
siren song on the
wind playing with my hair
woman's best friend
in the crook of my leg
my heart

the sun warms up to play

not another soul in sight
eversweet sun up
this morning routine
dashing dark
knighting the way

home before the world starts grumbling
numbers tumbling
people stumbling through
these isolation blues

Beauty and the brief
peace
I fold in carefully
before Sunday steals
another week.
