Eclipse Week

Eclipse week is here darklings and this witch could not be more enthralled! Though we may now boast a haughty modern understanding of the orbits and intersections of our sun and moon, the folklore and magic attributed to our luminaries offers far more.
Every culture holds its own eclipse fables close, their only way to explain what seemed like end times. Foreboding skies that led through a turbulent passage of change, a harried hurried collision of beginnings and endings and a messy rebirth into something entirely unstudied. Fear of the unknown converted through survival into something else entirely. Shaped into creatures, folded into tales, the stuff of legends and warnings to serve communal understanding.
We are living mythology now, each of us still present as humanity rebirths itself. Not one of us have been untouched or unchanged by the past few years as our world inexorably moves through this extinction threshold. Nothing is certain nor guaranteed to survive this crossing. The old pillars that we had been taught to look to in times of trouble - church and state, leaders and lovers - have fallen foul of their stated mission.
Perhaps all we can do is look up. Seek the ancients wisdom and the modern mystics. Generate our own prescient understanding and craft a bespoke passage through this wild season, shepherded by the information we can gather from the outside and the guidance we can conjure from within.

I've written books and spoken these magics for well over a decade now, a pet subject borne of fascination and wonder. Together we will dive into the science and mythology and listen for what plucks a string within.
