Thanksgiving Chiron

Although it is nothing like Thanksgiving where I live, for many I am connected to in the online world this is one of those compulsory weekends full of big old triggers. The niggle that we are supposed to be grateful for and the lesson we can be oh so thankful for. Blessed again.I don't think it is by coincidence then that Chiron is lifting his weary head once more this weekend. Courtesy of some sandpaper Martian lovin' he's checking in to see if we are still bleeding. As I regularly bang on about, Chiron is misrepresented if you think he's all about your wounding. No no, that's just you still blaming and flailing and paying it forward. Think of Chiron as a bag of shit if you like but remember it is your bag and your ancient crapola firmly encased within. If you dump that bag in someone else's living room, you are still that guy that was 'provoked' into shitting on their floor. You don't ever want to be that guy.Chiron's raison d'etre is healing. That which we do post wounding and pre ascension. Apres panic, way beyond triage and up around scar tissue. His main aim is for us to get better, act better, BE better. And he knows the only way out is through because that's what shapes and frames us.As a rule, we don't get any better until we realise that it isn't everyone else's fault. Even if it was, the wound remains yours to do with what you will. It is a mark of maturity to sidestep the quicksand that is the blame game - and often the toughest ask. It is a mark of commitment to your own life to be ready to face it, in full technicolour, head on. And in the paraphrased words of one of my favourites Elizabeth Gilbert if you think you're there, head home for the holidays.Chiron is a teacher. Healing is a high art worth perfecting. And thanksgiving isn't even for turkeys. Watch your hair trigger therapy this weekend. Should they be tripped, show them just how much you have grown. Part of the balm of the healing spectrum is being able to see precisely how far you have already travelled along it and act accordingly.Failing that?
