Nieces To Pieces
There ain't nothing quite like the balm of family, today's peak spent reacquainting my gorgeous nieces to the magic of Mama Nature up here. They rolled in the grass with the dogs as we drank in glorious Winter sunshine. We clambered through caves and peered into burrows. We group hugged the biggest tree round these parts and learned how to call cows, making the little bulls jump and frolic. We feasted on homemade pavlova and talked of the million stars in the night sky here, when the moon is new and she hides her face. Family is an everyday magic that holds me tight in its everloving grip, one to which I willingly submit now. And so I wait, belly and heart full, for the moonrise.© Kerrie Basha, 2017
