V Day Spellcraft

My everloving gift to you darkling on this hallmarked V Day is to know and deeply understand love's greatest truth. That your capacity for love is utterly and absolutely a function of your self love. Truly madly deeply. The most important relationship you will ever have is with your own hummingbird heart.

Whether bruised or broken, blown wide open or curled tight like a bud, your heart is your generative counterpoint. The foil to your marvellous mind that beating bundle calls the shots, generating more crackle and spark and sweet sweet music than any other organ in the meat factory.

Your giddy heart may have made decisions your sensible self now bemoans, because everyone has twenty twenty hindsight. But she gave you no other choice. Regrets are just mistakes we don't want to own. You went willingly and smiling. How your heart feels and what it hammers for cannot be negotiated or traded for lesser gods.

We must trust our hearts implicitly. Defy our mind's demands for reason and sense and logic. Most great love is indistinguishable from madness. We have to simply allow our hearts freedom. Give it room to move and courage to explore and a safe space in which to break. That is the greatest love of all and Whitney bloody knew it.

Lovers can only meet each other to the degree they have met themselves. Whether a true romantic or a bleeding heart, love rituals will draw greater love and connection into your life. And yes, they can still be powerfully enacted this day of murderous love. What? You didn't know that we are all commemorating the brutal demise of St Valentine, who was rewarded for marrying lovers in secret outside the auspices of church and state with a less than romantic public slaying? Hallmark have really kept that inconvenient truth tucked under their heart shaped hat.

Whether you think V is for valentine or vendetta, vagina or vodka, this day is built for deep consideration of love.
