The Altar of the Lunar Eclipse
Collage Art by @nicolemagnolia
The full moon in Libra has nearly risen and just before 11pm tonight Wollombi time the lunar eclipse takes place completing the astronomical process of eclipse season, even as this potent window will continue to exert its significant effect in our lives for weeks and months yet. This tipping point highlights the big question that has been ruminating for weeks now:
Are you ready to eclipse yourself?
The Pisces eclipse two weeks prior - yes that's was only a mere fortnight ago but my hasn't our landscape drastically shifted since then - dropped us into cloudy waters. It was as though our previous realities were literally dissolving before our very eyes and often just as we were finally reaching for them. And so the underwater tumbling began, the relentless waves pulling everything out of our pockets and separating us in a very deliberate fashion from anything that we may have been clinging to in the vain hope that the devil we knew best would save us. Cue the maniacal laughing as we began to tumble.
Eclipse season this year has been something else entirely. Beyond the usual frenzy of ending and beginnings, of agitation and muck, of rawness and realness and truth. Beyond the Tower we needed to fall and the wasteland we still need to emerge from. Beyond the grief and loss and secret shame. In a place out past all these things, eclipse season has gone above and beyond its call of duty hurling us individually and collectively into our brave new worlds.
It is time now to lay ourselves bare on the altar of the final eclipse. This sun in Aries is banging his chest in a fiery show of I Am, supercharged by Mercury here too shouting from the back stalls and Mars in scorching Sagg, taking no prisoners as he goes. The moon in perfumed Libran skies is seeking harmony, trying to regain her balance through collaboration. What line do you take between honouring yourself and the needs of others? Note well which side you lean towards and look to how this may have changed over eclipse season. Venus is batting her lashes at Chiron pinging the north and south nodes. Are you moving forwards to your bright future or falling backwards in an effort to play it safe and hide behind what you already know?
Our worlds are built on relationship of all kinds. It is these engagements that move us forward or set us back, open our eyes or clamp them shut. Tonight's full moon is a powerful chance to surrender to the mighty forces that seek to help you reinvent your life. This is no time to play it safe. Set your course for new adventures and choose who you would like to come along for the ride.
One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight, for a very long time, of the shore.
