Let It Go Spell
The dark moon is the very best time there is to Let It Go, every single month in a row. That stormy eclipse season laid bare our lives, demonstrating in no uncertain terms how anything built on flimsy, tenuous or outright deluded foundations cannot stand. And so to the letting go, as we truthfully acknowledge that it is beyond time to relinquish our ties to anything that does not delight us, uplift us, add meaning to our lives. The dark moon is the time to be ruthless in your decluttering from all levels of your life - physical and mental, emotional and spritiual.
Below is the ritual - a favourite of mine - that I mentioned last night in our wonderful dark moon circle. I adore it for its elegant simplicity and potent efficacy. Put simply, this shit works. Ritual is the frame in which our life resides, honouring the path we travel.
Fallen Leaf Ritual for the Dark Moon
Collect a hatful of fallen leaves. The ones languishing on the ground having effortlessly let go - with a complete absence of shirt pulling, navel gazing or endless musing - from the tree that had once sustained them. This is the energy you will be emulating, nature showing us the way once more.
Write the things in your life you would like to let go of on the leaves. This is why I grab a hatful. It can be one word to symbolise it (or a novel depending on the size of the leaf) but make sure you spend time connecting first with what you are letting go, feeling it all the way out to its hidden corners so it is released in its entirety. I find textas work best on the delicate surface of fallen leaves, black for the dark moon.
Light a small fire and one by one drop the leaves into the flames. It is enormously satisfying to watch the fire eat your words as the leaf itself disappears. And so it is done. Repeat this process as many times as you like, holding true to your intention to release, relinquish, let go.
The link below is my Dark Moon Drill, written three years ago now prior to the Leo new moon. We are heading into a different fire moon this evening as Lady Luna is new in Aries at 9.24pm Wollombi time but the theory is the same. More about that later. Until then, do your dark moon well. The way we make space and honour this time has a significant influence on our new moon cycle.
Dark blessings my luna lovelies.
