Flux Capacitor
Art: Trish Woodford
This is a flux capacitor, invented by fictional Dr Emmet Brown in 1955 to enable time travel in his DeLorean. It stored the power held in a lightning bolt which when unleashed neatly zapped you into another dimension of time and space.
Because of the unholy marriage between technology and capitalism, Stanford University scientists replicated the design for reals and then promptly patented it for themselves in the early noughties. Although allegedly not supporting the time travel hypothesis, the IRL flux capacitor has the ability to hold charge equivalent to a small nuclear explosion.
It strikes me as everything begins to crackle with the approach of Aries season proper - and with so much transformation in progress - that a flux capacitor may well be required for the arsenal.
How else to hold the energy inherent in the season? How else to balance the reinvigorated fire in our bellies with the need to take things slow and steady as we rebuild and reinvent our lives. How to save or store the kind of excess Arian energy we crave on our lesser days?
Given most of our don't have 10 million in spare change for one of our own, we must instead accept the flux we find ourselves in while simultaneously maximising our capacity to cope. This requires beatific levels of surrender and a willingness to cultivate the unknown. Aries season always fires us up so keep your finger on the pause button instead of the others lighting up. Become the leader in your own existence and show the way you now live, think and breathe to others. Use the ram's vim and chutzpah to reinvigorate your life and become your own flux capacitor, fairly crackling with the energy of the new season.
Picture as above and instructions to build your own flux capacitor here… A full shebang reading to anyone who does, darklings!
