Dark Moon Surrender
Art @joemortell
Dark moon, thy name is respite and relief. Time to tend arrives now as the barely there crescent turns her face away and tucks back into herself. If you will let yourself linger long, this dark moon offers a wonderful scrying pool to craft uncommon sense from the fray.
With the arrival of Aries season and its ramrod imperatives, the noise of the world has been turned all the way up. The cacaophony refuses our turning away, demanding we hold our presence to this long year of provocative transformation. At the pointy end of Pluto's plan to rebirth humanity beyond its hubris and myopia, we are each challenged to explore personal paths through the gauntlet of old world haranguing and hasty exclamation points. The Aquarian imperative conjures our brave new world from deep within.
Each dark moon draws its own conclusions, rounding off the lunar cycle where it began with the last new moon. Now may we sweep our gaze back over the month that was, plucking knowledge from its eyes and learning from its entrails. Feeling gently into what remains undone, unsaid or unseen. Balming wounds with our own compassion, devoted attention and soft understanding.
This dark moon in Pisces grants us access to otherworlds beyond this twisting and turning reality. Its liminal gaze can shift focus and proffer hope. A perfect portal for the divinatory arts and magical practices that untether us from who we once were. As Neptune nods to the north node, our future self lies in wait in the dreamscape littering its strange visions with keys and clues. Note them well even if they don't make sense yet. All will be revealed in good time, darklings.
Rest itself is vastly underrated magic. Elevated to a high art every dark moon, stilling in tandem with the cycle that governs our waters lets them find their own level in us. The balsamic phase is a sticky enchantment that gently lays us down in the beds we have made for ourselves, so the body can rest and the spirit can wend and wander.
Let yourself have it.
Rest now. Rest for longer than you are used to resting. Make a stillness around you, a field of peace. The best time of your life will grow out of this peace.
