This dark moon is the suspension bridge to the cosmic cocktail of eclipse, solstice and retrogrades that arrives this weekend. The solstice coinciding almost exactly with the new moon eclipse aligning the sun and moon in Cancer will only happen twice in the 21st century: this weekend and again in 2039.
The bridge through the writhing tail end of Gemini is necessarily rickety and unstable, the stilling point rooting us to this fabled passage. It can feel uneven as wild waters churn depths below. Things may seem well out of balance, as we reach our furthest point from the equinox. All of it serves the grand imperatives of this mad season.
I have been writing long this eve in the coven as the next turn of our wheel of the year beckons. This place whispers so much to us. And I will chat much more about it all at my Dark Mooner today but as the stillness settles in, I am tucked up in front of my fire and staring constantly into the dancing flames.
