An oldie but a goodie for these dystopian days, darklings.

This is the most powerful practice I know. The one I use and recommend that has seen me through the toughest moments and years of my life. And like most of the ageless wisdom of our world, it is deliciously simple and universally true.
An exercise in trust and surrender, care and compassion. An act of love that can move mountains, quell tears and tame tempests. It is the most ardent gesture of self care and the greatest reassurance available. It costs nothing. It is completely portable and deeply powerful.
Just place your hand on your quivering heart and quietly tell yourself,
I've got you.
No matter how your head may be racing or your heart hammering. No matter what has happened or how you feel. No matter whether you are lost in the crowd or a long dark night. No matter what else is going on around you.
The three most powerful words we can utter, our hand holding our own heart.
I've got you.
It means that we no longer abandon ourselves. That we know, somewhere deep inside, there is a part of us that can hold us through anything. That doesn't trade us for lesser gods and cannot be swayed. That can and will survive, endure, fall and rise again.
I've got you.
It is the foundation stone. Whether it was laid for you or you have had to hunt down the formwork yourself. Learning how to hold yourself forms the basis of how - and to what degree - you can hold anyone else. Call it self love or reparenting or any of those buzz words that underline our universal need to be seen and held. Begin with the most important relationship of your whole life, first last and longest.
I've got you.
Practice makes perfect, darklings.
🙏
