The storm is here darklings and the sirens are ringing out around the world. To your bunkers, they cry. Seek shelter and protect yourself from the marauding virus that threatens life as we know it.
I bloody hope so. This tipping point has been ratcheting for some time. But the true germs were seeded long ago, in our systems and our priorities and in ourselves too. Their tendrils like a cancer in our world, rotting it from the inside out. This toxic swamp we've made of our once pristine home on earth needs some serious flushing. As do we, the kind that only happens in isolation when we can no longer distract ourselves from what lies beneath. Shadow work, by any other name, on a global scale.
We elevate our resistance to a fine art. We refuse to deal when we can point the finger elsewhere or distract ourselves with a life overstuffed with obligation. We get swept away by the hive, folding to their whims and moods and moves and hide our personal responsibilities within the buzz and the busyness. But in the still of the night, we yet hear the storming and feel our hunger for a real life in our belly and our bones.
Even as it rages, it remains quiet and still in the eye of the tempest. Your calm centre is found in your own space. Settle in. Get comfy. The storm will rattle your windows and howl from beyond your boundaries as it raises the seas within you. The waves will tower and crash about you. Let yourself be carried away, drowned and delivered gasping to a new shore.
We dive into our shadowlands in this courageous solitude, hunting for lost reservoirs of light. The rumbling may terrify the little one who lives hidden within and wonders where the cavalry is. They aren't coming. You are required to save yourself. And then to care and nourish and create from there. You do know how. Gently does it.
When you come out of this perfect storm you won't be the same person who walked into your house and bolted the door behind them. And that darklings is precisely the point. A revolution enacted in living rooms and by kitchen benches all over the world, a species individually and collectively evolving and adapting and learning to love what lies beneath.
