Full Moon in Sagittarius : Heart of the Huntress
The full moon in Sagittarius is nearly upon us and she leaves us little choice but to stare deeply in to the heart of the huntress. Seeking only the truth and the removal of obstacles to the grandest goals we have set, Lady Luna is playing with fire in every sense.Our Saggi friends are known for their freewheeling, outspoken nature. This fire sign is optimistic and idealistic, great to have around for moral support and to keep our spirits up. They genuinely believe that everything will be okay or at the very least work out for the best. They seek freedom and adventure and the new experiences that are synonymous with both. Like the town crier of the zodiac, they hunt down the truth and then broadcast their version of it to the world. Yes, out loud and sometimes without tact or forewarning. This is both the charm and the curse of the beautiful Archer, who sends arrows out without a moment’s thought that usually hit their mark, delivered with a cheeky smile and a twinkle in the eye.When the moon’s grace and power is expressed in fiery Sagittarius, the skies command us to examine our Truth under the same fearless lens. Do we live an authentic life? Do we walk our talk? Do we live out loud? Do we practice what we preach? This firecracker moon is active rather than passive and so we may have scenarios in our lives playing out that underline the divide. Throw in some heavyweight players and we have an unholy recipe for our destiny on offer, if we can just navigate the hurdles.The first two we have to wrangle are Saturn and ol' Uncle Pluto. Saturn retrograding in Sagg feels like the brakes but he rewards solid commitment, hard work and zero bullshit. He will reveal to you in no uncertain terms where your delusions may lie, no doubt neatly pointed out by someone taking aim at you. There are arrows flying everywhere today! Uncle Pluto just likes to stir the pot: any pot at any time as his stock in trade is chaos. He knows better than most that from chaos comes order and so even though he plays messy, his magic is in forcing us to tidy up.Jupiter is known as our planet of luck and largesse and has been retrograding until today. We know that stationing points magnify the effect of any planetary body - and Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius and thus this moon too. His time travelling backwards has showed us the blocks - within and without - to our abundance. He bulldozes the path to our dreams, which sometimes wipes out giant chunks of our life we had gotten really attached to, in order for us to skip lightly down it sans obstacles. Anything that has left your life over the past six months is gone to make way. Trust this no matter how it smarts. Also whacking significant weight is the Galactic Centre, fabled to be the home of our highest destiny in this life. With so much changing in the skies all at once and our feet not yet steady on such new ground, caution should exceed hubris. The hunt we are on this full moon must take place deep within our own hearts, if we are to realise the grand evolutionary goal the Bright Lady already has her eye on for us.
RITUAL FOR THE SAGITTARIAN FULL MOONTake time this full moon to examine your journey to your great Truth without the pointless lens of your own judgement. Seriously, it remains spectacularly unhelpful and only retards the process at hand. Instead, clarify in real terms what it is that you seek and the steps you can take each day – no matter how small – toward this worthy destination. Above all else, remember always that You are the singular oracle of your own sweet truth and you have already come a long way baby. This is where clarity lies and tonight the Bright Lady shines her magic light on just this, for each and every one of us.Because the full moon is the time every month in a row to both call in and let go, I would suggest making two very clear lists. Let the first look at your great goals as a function of who you are and how you live. Do they marry beautifully or are they Peggy and Al? Until we walk our talk in every single sense we are taking as many steps backwards as forwards. As you do so, notice anything - and I mean any little thing and the big ones too - that is out of alignment with these audacious plans for your life. Those barriers will constitute the second list. If you like, you can do this for each of your goals or plans. Alternatively you can jumble it altogether, because that is life and how it unfolds.It would be patently insane not to harness the magic of fire under a flaming moon. Fire magic is potent and transformative. Anything touched by fire is irrevocably altered. Submit both these lists to the flames. The first, filled with your grand goals, should be set ablaze at the moment of the peak itself and the second, just afterwards as the moon tips over to waning. Personally I scribe all ritual into my Book of Shadows for posterity and to trace the crooked path I wander this life. From a practical magic point of view, it is also wonderful for jogging the memory.We can use this burst of freewheeling rutbusting, with its inbuilt sense of adventure and all consuming desire for new horizons, to pull toward us that which would round our year off nicely.
