Monday meditation brought to you by the starlings that live in UK nature sanctuary Minsmere. This is hands down my favourite natural phenomenon, one I have been lucky enough to witness with my own eyes many moons ago, way out west as the sun was setting over open plains.

This sky ballet is a murmuration and it whispers to us of a poetry and symmetry beyond our control and coercion. The best meditation is similarly effortless: beyond herding the mind or postured uncomfortably for too long or trying too hard. Simply sitting immersed in the beauty of the natural world, eyes wide open and senses attuned, is my kinda meditation: effortless, relaxing, beautiful, different every day. Your breath will even into its natural rhythm. Your senses focused on the beauty about you will clear your mind. Your being will remember that you are a creature of leaves or wind or water and forget beeps and buttons.

You will be at ease.

Practice makes perfect.
