Snakes Alive

In the brackish space between old and new, something else entirely emerges. Minds slavishly entrained into neuroconformist norms devour the details without thinking. Aligning hungry spiritual innards to the next trending thought field, without pausing for even so much as a nanosecond to consider what it actually means to them, for them or their worlds at large.
The fight for your mind, your care and your attention is the war of the worlds, currently dying and rebirthing. We are not passive players on this big board, nor hapless pawns in a game whose rules we didn't make up. Your power rests where you give your energy, focus and attention. Shaped by the relationships you form to the worlds, cultures, people and places you inhabit.
The year of the snake - from the oldest venerated Chinese pantheon - arrived to heavy trilling about skin shedding, transformation and a sea of performative realignment. But the snake's tongue flickers about far more than just that, its mythology ancient and woven into all our cultures and histories too.
Snake goddesses hark from a time long before patriarchy and its tall tales of demonology. Their names a parseltongue that conjure the mysterious synergy of snakes to channels within. The slithering shadow of the snake raises our fears of what lies hidden in the long grass, waiting to strike suddenly and sink its poison in deep, constricting our ability to breathe or move freely.
And so the earliest days of this brand spanking sepentine year are indeed revealing. Look at what is slithering about us, its presence unsettling and its menace hidden behind a toothy grin. Feel when and how your intuition screams snake! in the moments before you abandon it for how you have been told to think or feel instead.
Trust any silent trepidation over all the shiny disclaimers. Watch with glittering snake eyes, narrowed and flinty, that sense movement and vibration beyond just what you can see. Before you shed any skin in the game, consider that snake years promise a gleaming conclusion. Then we will find that everything is changed by its various graces.
